Life lessons from children!

My 2-year-old daughter usually calls out emphatically while looking and using her little fingers to point upwards. She wants me to toss her up in the air something she does not enjoy past the third throw but yet she keeps coming back. I like the adrenaline rush of the whole experience but not to appear to impose and damage our very good relationship, I request for confirmation before thrusting her off the ground.
                                                         
Up?, I ask to which she responds affirmatively saying yes (pronounced as Yesh!) or just runs away into hiding with a resounding NO!
Some days are great and filled with laughter while others are gloom especially when I throw her so high. She becomes jittery and uncontrollably yells or cries.
The brother, on the other hand, is entirely different and heavier, unfortunate for him because he really enjoys the game and when he was 2 years old, man! We would go outdoors not to be limited by the ceiling in the house and the higher I tossed him, the happier he got. This would go on until my arms were weary. My wife can not stand seeing us enjoy and on many occasions if not all, she escapes to the house or will continuously beg for me to immediately stop the game for our son's safety!
This game has always challenged me as it is somewhat synonymous with our relationship with God.
When young, we are all trusting just like my children believe that when I toss them into the sky, I will catch them. But when we grow up, we somewhat become 'wiser' and have to assess/evaluate everything! We live by sight and not just blindly believe. I know friends who will not go for bungee jumping even with the knowledge that the rope is strong enough to hold 5 times their weight! 'What if they break on my turn?' Questions linger in their minds. I can guess that if the strongest man on earth (NOT in Singapore!) came and gave you his assurances to toss you high into the sky and not let you fall, you would have some doubts. imagine the Israelites were children when Moses led them out of Egypt. The exodus would have been totally different!

A child, on the other hand, will surrender and have fun at the moment. Let us learn from the children, do not over scrutinise or evaluate just go ahead, DO IT and have fun in the process!
God is able and He will surely catch you so do not be afraid....be like a child.
